Après Babuji et Kasturi, le Docteur KC Varadachari (14/08/1902-30/01/1971) est sans doute l'une des plus grandes personnalités historiques du Sahaj Marg. La rencontre entre Babuji et le Docteur Varadachari date de 1955 et se transforme vite en une profonde amitié. Titulaire de la célèbre Chaire de Vivekananda à l'Université de Madras, ce professeur de philosophie de Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) crée le Sahaj Marg Research Institute en 1965 et contribue ainsi largement à la diffusion du Sahaj Marg auprès du grand public et à son ré ancrage hindouiste autour du raja-yoga. Mais en 1970, il alerte Babuji sur les risques de dérives du Sahaj Marg dus à son expansion.
"I fully realise that you require freedom from organizational work for the sake of spiritual work. I trust everyone will cooperate with you. But I must utter a word of warning if I ought not to be misunderstood. Let us not commercialise our Mission in our haste to secure financial stability for the Mission and in embarking upon works which are not immediately helpful to spiritual development for the abhyasis. We have to imbue the sense of Mission- spiritual and not mix it up with other ends. If I am not misunderstood I believe some things can be thrashed out with other seekers who also know about the deviations that take place in spiritual work. I trust you will not misunderstand me."
